Major General Robert M. Neller (U.S. Marine Corps)

Major General Robert B. Neller is currently the President of the Marine Corps University. 

He graduated from the University of Virginia and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant via the Platoon Leaders Class program in May 1975. Throughout his distinguished career, he served in countries such as Panama, Somalia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina.  He was serving as the 2d Marine Division G-3 when he was selected for Brigadier General in March of 2001. He assumed duties as the Assistant Division Commander of 2d Marine Division during June of 2001.  In September of 2005, he was assigned to be the Deputy Commanding General (Operations), I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), Camp Pendleton and was subsequently deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from February 2006 to February 2007. In January 2007 he was promoted to Major General. He subsequently served as the Assistant Division Commander for 1st Marine Division. Major General Neller commanded 3rd Marine Division from June 2007 to August 2009. On 4 September, 2009, Major General Neller assumed the duties of President, Marine Corps University.
